Claremary Sweeney is a writer/photographer residing in South Kingstown, Rhode Island with her husband, Charley, and their two cats, Roxie and ZuZu. She spent her early years in the field of education. Now retired, she uses her imagination to create stories which can be enjoyed by children of all ages and the young at heart.
Inspired by her travels to the many cultural places in the Berkshire Hills of Western Massachusetts, Sweeney used those settings as a background for the stories within Berkshire Tale. She is currently working on ZuZu’s Homecoming, a Christmas adventure set in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, during the town’s Annual Norman Rockwell Weekend. An avid fan of novels featuring historic locations, Ms. Sweeney decided to write one of her own. Last Train to Kingston is the first book in her adult, murder mystery series set in Rhode Island. It features Detective Lieutenant Kara Langley of the South Kingstown Police Force and uses South County settings along with her own photos of these historical places as a back drop for scenes within the book. Last Rose on the Vine, the second in this series, will be out in the Spring of 2018.
